Ravi's father has spent fifty years inside Indian schools. In 2025, over dinner, Ravi was explaining to him what “AI in education” had come to mean — smart boards, lessons on screens, content apps. The old man listened the way principals listen: patiently, and not for long.

Putting the lessons on a TV is not digitalisation. Where is the technology that understands where a child is struggling?

Three hours later they were still at the table. What about the pattern of mistakes? What if the concept that fails in Class 8 actually broke in Class 6 — and the evidence was sitting in forty marked test papers nobody ever read twice? Somewhere past midnight he gave Ravi the line this company is built on:

A child's education is a bicycle. Parents are one wheel, teachers the other — and it only moves when both turn together.

Right now, the entire connection between those two wheels is a report card. Twice a year. Weeks after it could have helped.

The idea became unavoidable at home. The night before a Biology exam, a mother sat with her daughter's textbook open in front of her. She hadn't touched Biology in twenty-five years. She had one question — the only question any parent has the night before an exam — is she ready?

There was no way to answer it. Not by reading the textbook upside-down at the kitchen table. Not by asking the child, who said “yes, Ma” the way every child says it. The answer would arrive with the marks, two weeks later, when it was useful to no one.

This was a teacher's own household. Fifty years of education inside those walls, and even there the night ended in a shrug. If that house was blind, every house was. That was the final nail — we stopped discussing and started building.

The honest version of our origin is not glamorous. Teachers around us were bending Google Forms into exam papers — no question-paper format, no analytics, no results anyone could keep. We thought fixing that was a weekend project.

Then every teacher and parent we showed it to pulled it somewhere bigger. Can parents see this? Can it make the question paper too? Can it tell me where my kid is weak? The weekend project refused to stay small — and we learnt to stop arguing with it.
